Privacy Policy
LAST UPDATED: JULY 5, 2026 · THE ENGLISH-LANGUAGE VERSION OF THIS PAGE GOVERNS
In plain terms: this is a static site. We run no ad trackers and set no tracking cookies. We receive personal information only when you choose to send it — by email, by booking a conversation, or by subscribing to the Journal — and we use it only to respond and to publish. A practice that advises on privacy should not need a 40-page policy to explain its own.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Fidem Praxis ("we," "us") — the practice founded by Wasim M. Amin, based in New York, NY — handles personal information collected through fidempraxis.com (the "Site"). For information handled in the course of client engagements, the engagement agreement and professional-responsibility rules govern and provide stronger protections than this Policy.
2. Information we collect
- Information you send us. If you email us, call, or book a conversation, we receive what you provide: name, email address, organization, and the content of your message. Please do not send confidential or privileged information before an engagement is in place.
- Journal subscriptions. If you subscribe to the Journal, your email address and subscription activity are collected and processed by Substack under its own privacy policy; we can see our subscriber list and aggregate engagement statistics.
- Technical data. Our hosting provider (Netlify) logs standard server data — IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps — for security and operations. We do not use analytics or advertising trackers on the Site.
- Local preference storage. The Site stores a single language preference (English or Arabic) in your browser's local storage so the Site remembers your choice. This value never leaves your device and identifies nothing about you. No tracking cookies are set by us.
3. Third-party services
The Site relies on a small set of service providers, each of which may process limited technical data (such as your IP address) when your browser requests their resources: Netlify (hosting), Google Fonts (typefaces), Cloudflare cdnjs (the three.js graphics library), and Substack (the Journal). Links to LinkedIn, wasimamin.us, and other external sites are governed by those sites' own policies. We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4. How we use information
We use the information described above to respond to inquiries, schedule and conduct conversations, run conflicts checks before any engagement, deliver the Journal, operate and secure the Site, and comply with legal and professional obligations. We do not use Site-collected personal information for automated decision-making, profiling, or model training.
5. Legal bases (EEA/UK visitors)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal data on the bases of legitimate interests (operating and securing the Site, responding to professional inquiries), consent (the Journal — withdrawable at any time via the unsubscribe link), and legal obligation (records we must retain).
6. Retention
We keep correspondence as long as needed for the purpose it was sent, for conflicts-checking, and as professional-records rules require. Journal subscription data is retained until you unsubscribe. Server logs are retained per our hosting provider's standard schedule.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under the GDPR, UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and analogous laws such as the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) — you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict the processing of your personal information, and to object to processing or withdraw consent. To exercise any right, email [email protected]; we will respond within the period required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. EEA/UK residents may also lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority.
8. International transfers
We are based in the United States and the Site is hosted there. If you access the Site from outside the U.S., information you send us will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where data-protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction. We take the safeguards described in this Policy regardless of origin.
9. Security
The Site is served over HTTPS. We limit access to correspondence to the principal and apply reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. No internet transmission is perfectly secure; do not transmit sensitive information through the Site.
10. Children
The Site is a professional-services site not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this Policy by posting a revised version with a new "Last updated" date. Questions or requests: [email protected] · Fidem Praxis, New York, NY.
